Our Model
We develop puberty resources with girls and for girls. Our books are developed in collaboration with adolescent health experts from Columbia University to ensure that the content is factually and scientifically correct. To develop each book, we conduct participatory research with girls, capturing the perspectives of young people growing up today, and incorporating their stories alongside factual guidance on the physical and emotional changes of puberty.
1. Research
We facilitate participatory research with girls across the USA about their questions and experiences with puberty
2. Create Content
We select the young people’s stories to include along with factual information
3. Illustrate
We work with a local illustrator to illustrate and lay out the book
4. Feedback
We field test and finalize our book
5. Distribute
We share copies of the book with youth-focused nonprofit organizations, schools, and libraries
